- Named Ship of the Year 2019 by Skipsrevyen
A stone’s throw away from the Jets Vacuum head office, the finishing touches are now being made to the Color Hybrid at Ulstein Verft.
The world’s largest plug-in hybrid ferry is due to be put in to service between Sandefjord in Norway and Strömstad in Sweden this summer.
Color Hybrid is a RoPax vessel and will hold 2000 passengers and 500 cars.
With batteries charged by shore power installed in the Norwegian port, Color Hybrid is able to operate on full battery power in and out of the fjord to Sandefjord. This means zero emissions of harmful greenhouse gases or nitrogen and sulphur compounds in the area.
JETS is proud to have supplied the vacuum sanitary system for this groundbreaking ship, contributing to making the Norwegian maritime industry greener.
Jets Vacuum’s energy efficient solution is a great fit with the focus on green technologies on the Color Hybrid and is in keeping with the vision that Color Line shall be at the forefront of the green transition of the maritime industry.
Operating a busy stretch with frequent departures and adhering to a strict timetable, reliability is paramount in all the ship’s systems.
The JETS vacuum sanitary system ensures the toilet facilities on board can be trusted to perform flawlessly with minimal maintenance.
The powerful Vacuumarator® vacuum unit provides all the capacity required, and the new Jets® piston valve extends the lifespan of the system even further.
Jets Vacuum were also chosen to supply the sanitary system on both the other excellent nominees for Ship of the Year 2019: MS Roald Amundsen and MS Ronja Storm.
