JETS is GPTW-certified once again – and of course, that calls for a marzipan cake!

A certification that matters

JETS is committed to fostering a positive work environment and has over time used various employee surveys. As a global company, it was important for JETS to use a survey that could include all employees across national borders, and the choice fell on Great Place To Work.

– Great Place To Work is internationally recognised and based on a solid methodology with strong professional foundations. The Trust Index they use provides us with valuable insight into how we can continue to develop, says Solveig Sundgot, Payroll / HR Manager at JETS.

Using a well-established, international, and structured method to measure how employees perceive the workplace gives us a solid foundation for our efforts. This approach focuses on three key aspects – the relationship between employees and management, the connection to one's job and role, and the sense of community with colleagues. A great workplace is characterised by trust in both management and colleagues, pride in the work being done, and a strong sense of belonging

Stronger together – despite major changes

The past year has been one of the most productive in JETS' history. Alongside high activity and growth, we have replaced several major, critical business systems, including a new CRM and ERP solution.

This has required training, adaptation, and a willingness to change across the organisation. The fact that we have managed to strengthen our work environment and increase job satisfaction at the same time demonstrates that we have a strong culture and solid routines in place, Sundgot continues.

A good work environment is not just about social activities and benefits but also about how we organise and perform our work. Meaningful tasks, opportunities for professional development, and a flexible workday are all factors that have contributed to these positive results.

A significant recognition for the entire organisation – and certainly worth celebrating! The HR team plays a key role in fostering a strong work environment.

Positive results in both Norway and Latvia

We are happy to see positive results not only in Hareid but also in our company in Latvia. In Saldus, 40 employees have adopted the same systems as in Norway, along with several new production initiatives, including increased use of robotics.

The survey scores particularly high on inclusion and the absence of discrimination. JETS is also perceived as a safe workplace that offers opportunities for individual adaptation and flexibility.

When our employees thrive, feel safe, and have opportunities for professional and personal development, it strengthens both collaboration and the collective competence of the organisation, Sundgot explains.

In the long run, a good work environment contributes to increased engagement, efficiency, and innovation, which not only benefits individuals but also creates long-term value for JETS.

From insight to action

Being certified is a great recognition, but it does not mean our work is done. The survey results give us valuable insight into how employees experience the workplace, and we actively use this information to develop initiatives and make improvements.

We use the results from Great Place To Work to understand what we are doing well and where we have room for improvement.

Close collaboration with leaders at JETS is key to ensuring everyone gains a good understanding of the results and to planning improvements for different parts of the organisation.

Together with all managers at JETS, we review the results and discuss next steps. Each department is at a different stage and has different needs, so it is important to listen and identify the areas we can develop further together. The goal is always to create an even better workplace for everyone, says Sundgot.

The road ahead

Work on the work environment is a continuous process. We invest significant resources in creating a positive work environment because we know it adds value – both for employees and for JETS as a company. The ripple effects of a safe and inclusive workplace are substantial, both now and in the long term.

– Psychological safety is important to us. As an organisation, we will continue to work together to ensure a work environment where everyone feels welcome, seen, and valued, says Sundgot.

Despite a year filled with activity and change, JETS has improved its GPTW results. This indicates that as an organisation and as employees, we have the ability to adapt. Shared efforts and common goals can be empowering, and we will continue our work to become an even better workplace.

– This is confirmation that we are on the right track, and we will continue to build on this solid foundation, Sundgot concludes.
